Power of Attorney Translation – Fast and Professional Service
Power of Attorney Translation – Professional and Efficient
General powers of attorney, special powers of attorney and powers of attorney relating to the representation of minors' interests. Where required, we also arrange notarisation and Apostille.
A power of attorney is a legal document, which means that its translation requires accuracy and appropriate handling. If the document is intended for use abroad, it is important to establish the applicable requirements at the outset.
Send us a scanned copy or clear images of the power of attorney, and we can advise you on the required translation, certification and estimated cost.
What types of powers of attorney do we translate?
Powers of attorney vary in scope, content and intended use. We therefore handle each document according to its specific purpose.
General Power of Attorney
A broad authorisation granting the appointed representative the right to act on behalf of the person granting the power of attorney.
Specific Power of Attorney
An authorisation covering a defined range of matters or actions for which a person is granted authority to act.
Special Power of Attorney
An authorisation issued for a specific action, transaction or clearly defined purpose.
Representation of Minors' Interests
We also translate powers of attorney relating to the representation of minors' interests, including documents intended for use abroad.
Translating a Power of Attorney for Use Abroad
A power of attorney is a legal document, so its translation must reflect the nature of the document and its intended purpose.
When a power of attorney is intended for use abroad, notarisation of the translation is commonly required in practice. Whether an Apostille is required depends on the country where the document will be used.
Notarisation
Where required, we prepare the translation and arrange its notarisation through our cooperating notaries.
Apostille
If an Apostille is required in the particular case, we can also arrange this as part of the process.
A Simpler Process
If notarisation is required, you do not need to arrange every stage of the process separately. We prepare the translation and the documentation required for notarisation and arrange the notarisation through our cooperating notaries.
We can also arrange a solution that allows you to complete the process in a single visit to one of our cooperating notaries.
We prepare the translation in advance and agree on a suitable time with you. We then deliver the translation to the notary, while you arrive there with the original document. Once the notarisation has been completed, you can receive the finished document immediately.
A Convenient Solution Wherever You Are
You can order a power of attorney translation regardless of where you are located. There is no need to make a separate trip simply to deliver the document or collect the completed translation.
Send the document using the method that suits you
You can send the power of attorney using whichever delivery method is most convenient for you:
- parcel locker;
- postal service;
- courier.
This allows the process to be started from wherever you are, without having to make a separate trip to Riga.
Free return delivery of the completed document
Once the translation and required certification have been completed, we can return the completed document free of charge via a parcel locker.
You can collect the shipment at a time and location that suits you, without having to wait for a courier at a particular address.
You Pay Only for the Text That Needs to Be Translated
Powers of attorney can vary considerably in length. Some documents contain relatively little text, while others are much more extensive. This is why there is no need to pay a full-page rate for a document containing only a small amount of text.
Translation costs are calculated according to the actual amount of text to be translated and the number of words.
For example, if a power of attorney contains 50 words requiring translation, the cost is calculated for those 50 words rather than automatically charging for a full standard page.
Our translation rates per standard page are publicly available, but for powers of attorney we take the actual amount of text into account. This means you pay specifically for the amount of text that needs to be translated.
To receive an accurate quotation, simply send us a scanned copy of the power of attorney or clear images of the document, together with the target language and the required certification.
If the Power of Attorney Has Not Yet Been Prepared
If you need a power of attorney to be prepared but do not yet have the document, we can, where appropriate, recommend a notary office where you can discuss the preparation of the document.
The content of the power of attorney, the preparation procedure, timeframe and notarial fees are determined by the notary. Once the power of attorney has been prepared, we can provide the translation and arrange the required certification.
