How to properly prepare translated educational documents for studies abroad?

Document Preparation and Translation

Document Preparation and Translation Process

First of all, always familiarize yourself with the requirements of the specific educational institution. These determine both the documents, the language, and the type of certification. If the institution does not provide publicly available information, make sure to contact them in writing, as requirements may often differ and therefore the required documents may also change accordingly. If the requirements are not clear, you may contact the relevant institution, or if necessary you can also ask us — we will review the requirements and provide an answer, or indicate specific questions that need to be clarified.

Important: Requirements are always determined by the institution and may differ in each case.

What you need to know before starting the process

School requirements

This is the first and most important step.

It is necessary to find out which documents must be submitted, in which language, and with what type of certification.

Translation certification

There are two main types of certification:

• Agency-certified translation – the translation agency certifies and stamps that the translation was completed by us and corresponds to the source document in its original language.

• Notarized translation – the translation is certified with a notarial confirmation.

Translation language

In most cases, English translations are accepted — they are also the most common and cost-effective option. However, some institutions and countries may require a different language, so this must always be clarified in advance.

How document preparation takes place

1

Review of requirements

Carefully review the admission requirements. Find out which documents must be submitted and what type of certification is required. If there are any uncertainties — you can send us the requirements, and we will help clarify them or indicate what needs to be confirmed with the institution.

2

Submitting documents to us

Once the requirements are clear, send us scanned copies of the documents. We will evaluate them and prepare a cost estimate. The price is determined based on word count and the type of certification.

3

Approval and start

After agreement and payment, we begin the translation process.

4

Receiving the completed documents

Translations are sent by email and also provided in physical form if needed.

Original documents can be collected in person: Sliežu iela 1, Riga, LV-1005.

We also offer free delivery via courier services (Omniva, DPD, etc.) or Latvian Post throughout Latvia.

Most common mistakes

  • Incorrectly selected certification
  • Incomplete or non-compliant documents
  • Insufficient understanding of requirements
  • Late submission
