Certified & Notarised translations by LK Translation

Translations with Notarial or Translation Office Certification

A notarised translation is a translation certified by a qualified translator, whose signature authenticity is then confirmed by a sworn notary in accordance with the laws and regulations of the Republic of Latvia.

Types of Notarised Translations

  • Certified translation attached to the original document: The translation is physically attached to the original document and notarised accordingly.
  • Certified translation attached to a copy of the document: The translation is attached to a copy of the original document and notarised. It is also possible to certify the authenticity of the copy; however, the original document must be submitted to our office for verification.

Translation Office Certification

As an alternative to a notarised translation, we offer certification by the translation office. In this case, the translation is attached to a copy of the document and certified with the qualified translator’s signature and the company’s official stamp. Please note that this type of certification does not have the same legal weight as a notarised certification. We recommend consulting with us before placing an order to ensure this option meets your requirements.

Options for Receiving Certified Translations

  • Submission and collection of documents directly at the LK Translation office.
  • Delivery via postal or courier services within Latvia or internationally.

If you are unsure whether a certified translation is required, please contact us for a free consultation.

Important client information: Latvia does not maintain an official registry or institution for sworn translators, and therefore there is no formal sworn translator certification. The term “sworn translator” typically refers to either a simple translator’s certification or a notarised certification.
